The World Cup - Islam vs. Everyone Else (Join or Die)
Is it possible to determine what peace really means and how it is to be defined? Are we in pursuit of a personal or a social understanding? I believe we, as humans, are fluid creatures of understanding and acceptance. We seem content to allow events to reshape our values and thresholds for acceptance. Take Iraq , for example. We are now, these five years into the struggle, content to walk away from it and allow it to resolve itself. In five years’ time, we’ll be battling another Islamic state which has declared its officially sanctioned goals as the destruction of Israel , the breakdown of the United States , and the “Islamization” of the region, regardless of the wishes of its people. In short, the Middle East and North Africa will begin their slow march backward toward tribalism and 666 A.D. (year chosen for its dismissive value). You think we have trouble now? Just wait until this plays itself out after the weak-minded Americans coddle the Middle East and curry favor among the weak European Union. We are just now witnessing the tip of the violence headed our way when we relent, as we are most certainly wont to do. Once Islam declares itself the enemy of any people or way of life, there is no “peaceful coexistence” or compromise, just ask the Israelis how well that compromise thing is working out for them. Yeah, they’re cleaning up from another Hammas rocket attack (date immaterial). The 60’s and 70’s are nothing more than nostalgia for us – the days of the OPEC-induced gas shortages, the Iran hostage crisis, bell bottoms, and groovy long hair. The “give peace a chance” crowd is more ostrich than eagle. Islamic extremism will not compromise with us simply because we want to give them a hug of peace, love, and understanding. It’s not that way, and it will never be that way. We, read the liberal left, are hell-bent (sorry, pun intended) on removing all vestiges of religious traditionalism from our society, government, and schools while the Islamic fundamentalist/extremist wants to base his/her entire existence on religion. How can we possibly imagine that we can reach an understanding here? It’s not defensible as a strategy, of course, but Islamic extremism drew first blood. That’s not to suggest that we are bound to retribution, but we are bound to self-defense. Iraq probably was not the best choice, but it is what it is and no amount of hand-wringing is going to change yesterday. The ‘blame America ’ crowd has no foundation on which to base their assumptions that we are at fault for creating terrorism. How did we do that? By being the most wealthy, powerful, and dominant nation on the planet? Is that our sin? I don’t agree with that assertion. I do believe that much of the fault Islamic extremism finds with the USA is the debauchery of our society, a direct result of the very values championed by the liberal left. You think gay rights, NAMBLA, and restorative justice are the values championed by Islam? Hell, there are no homosexuals in all of Iran (according to President Ahmadinajad). Of course there aren't -- the fundamentalist Muslims have killed them all. We really need a “come to Jesus” (sorry) awakening in this country very soon or the slide will only become more and more steep. We need to eliminate the parties vying for control and come together as a nation in order to defend her, as Americans, and not Republicans and Democrats with a struggle for power overriding the interests of the people.
